In winter, when the leaves fall from the trees, you can see what they hide and the hill of Tenna presents itself as a composition of terraces graduated towards the lake of Caldonazzo. Between them you can spot small sheds used to store agricultural tools. These sheds are usually made from local stone, and their roofs can be constructed in different ways. This project concerns the renovation of one of them.

When we were appointed for this project, the stone shed was in terrible shape – the roof was collapsing and the exterior walls were on the verge of collapsing with it. We decided to restore it keeping the original features as much as possible because we wanted the hangar to be well integrated into the surrounding landscape.

Within the perimeter of the original walls we have inserted an independent and different element to be read separately from the stone walls. This element is made up of two parts: a wooden volume and an iron one which serves as an entrance and a landscaped bezel. The two elements were built dry and then lowered inside the stabilized stone walls.
