Manufacturer of communication devices Poly introduced more integrations with Microsoft Teams and its devices, most recently the Studio X30 and X50 video bars.
According to a press release on Tuesday, Video Bars now run Microsoft Teams natively, enabling seamless out-of-the-box collaboration through Microsoft’s unified communication and collaboration platform.
New features include:
- Proximity join allows users to simply go to any available meeting space and join a meeting from a personal device through the Teams desktop or mobile app.
- One-touch login allows users to enter the scheduled meeting room and join a meeting with the push of a single button on the TC8 touchscreen control device.
- Users can share content from their phone or laptop through the Teams desktop or mobile app.
- The native Teams experience provides a familiar user interface for conducting meetings from anywhere.
Organizations that have already deployed Poly Studio X without the native Teams app can install the Poly Video OS 3.1.1 software update and select Teams as their preferred collaboration platform, according to Poly.
Poly’s expanded relationship with Teams comes amid a massive increase in remote working due to COVID-19. Teams has doubled the number of users in recent months, from 32 million users in March to 75 million in April.
Poly has seized on this demand in recent months, releasing new collaboration-ready devices such as Teams Certified Headsets, Solutions for Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms.
According to Poly, it’s now one of the companies with the most Teams certified devices available.
“Now more than ever, having the right tools for collaboration is imperative to supporting an organization’s success, especially as we think about the ‘next normal’ in how we participate in meetings and let’s share content with a consistent user experience, ”said Tim Root, Poly’s vice president and general manager of indoor collaboration activities, in a statement.
“Poly continues to expand its portfolio of professional-grade video and audio solutions to include Teams-certified and native devices like the Poly Studio X family to meet this demand. “
