Next month, you can enter Abbey Road Studio’s famous Studio Two to experience 90 years of music history, as part of the 90th anniversary celebrations. As Abbey Road Studios are normally closed to the public, this is a rare opportunity to step inside the famous house and see where recorded music history takes place.

Before you get too excited, I have to warn you that these events don’t come cheap.

As part of their anniversary, over two weekends in November, they open their doors for you to enter Studio Two for a series of lectures.

Taking place nearly 90 years to the day since Sir Edward Elgar’s famous opening ceremony at Abbey Road (November 12, 1931), the talks will trace the history since the founding of the world’s first recording studios, explaining how rooms, equipment, recording techniques and engineers have adapted over the decades to continue to be the home of music’s most famous recordings.

Lectures will be given by Kevin Ryan and Brian Kehew – producers, musicians and authors of Recording The Beatles, a book chronicling studio equipment and techniques used to create classic Beatles albums.

The lectures and visit inside Studio Two will take place on November 13-14 and 20-21.

Tickets cost £ 125 per person and can be booked here.

Ticket buyers will have the rare chance to take photos inside Studio Two during their visit (before and after the conferences).

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE

This website has now been operating for a little over a decade and although the ad revenue helps fund the website but does not cover the costs. This is why I have set up a service with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and the time invested in writing and researching the news articles.

It’s very similar to how The Guardian and many small websites are now looking to generate revenue in the face of rising costs and falling advertising.

Whether it is a one-time donation or a regular donor, each additional support goes a long way towards covering the costs of running this website and keeping you regularly up to date with London news and facts.

If you like what you read here, please support the website here.

Thank you
