Umphrey’s McGee, ‘Glory’ (live at Abbey Road Studios)

Today (April 29), Broadcast is beyond thrilled to team up with Umphrey’s McGee to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the album with a studio clip of the instrumental track “Glory” – watch. the above.

“Gospel rock and roll…that’s basically what ‘Glory’ is,” guitarist Jake Cinninger tells us. “We’ve been performing the song live for over 13 years, so it was truly an honor to finally be able to drop the studio version in none other than Abbey Road.”

Even as a pure instrumental tune, there’s a stunning, dynamic spirit that grows throughout the four-minute performance. “We based the track entirely on feel, with no predefined determination of how long should be,” Cinninger explains. “Instead of using the energy of the crowd, we used the energy of the room as a guide. No two sockets are the same; add the piano intro and a slight variation in form and the package was complete.”

With a number of accessories to promote the album – including artwork, a teacup and a pin – The London session is available in CD and digital format as well as double LP; enter album details here.

Umphrey’s McGee has a number of dates scheduled throughout the spring and summer, including multiple festival appearances across the states. You can stay up to date with their full itinerary at their official site.
