Take a Virtual Tour of Abbey Road Studios with Google

Google’s new Inside Abbey Road project offers fans a magical mystery tour through the world’s most iconic recording studios via their smartphone, tablet or desktop computer.

Google has partnered with Abbey Road Studios to create a View from the street interactive walk through the famous recording studios where the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Duran Duran and Radiohead recorded some of their greatest hits.

Inside Abbey Road allows fans to explore each of the three studios, peeking inside Studio One, home to music from several famous movies such as Raiders of the Lost Ark, Return of the Jedi, The Lord of the Rings film trilogy and Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone were recorded.

Studio Two is where The Beatles managed to record most of please make me happy in around 9.5 hours and Studio Three saw Pink Floyd put the finishing touches to wish you were Here and it’s also where some of the very first 5.1 surround mixes were created for the Beatles Anthology and U2, among others.

Narrated by Giles Martin, son of legendary Beatles producer George Martin, the tour includes 360 panoramic views of each room with additional YouTube clips, audio, and photos. A time-lapse video of the London Symphony Orchestra is also included, which is well worth watching.

With Inside Abbey Road, we wanted to open the doors of the iconic music studio so anyone in the world can walk in and experience the stories, sounds, people and equipment that make Abbey Road Studios what it is. they are today.

Speaking of the project, Giles Martin added: “Abbey Road Studios has been a hive of creativity and a source of world-class recordings for over 80 years.

“Artists using the studios have sold countless millions of records and helped create popular culture as we know it today. It is an inspiring place and an honor for me to work there today. This collaboration with Google gives the outside world a great insight into the day-to-day workings of the studio and allows anyone to glimpse the magic that takes place inside the world’s most famous recording studio.
