Frank Ocean recorded his new album at Abbey Road Studios.
Pianist Christophe Chassol has revealed he worked with the 27-year-old singer at the iconic London studios on the making of his second album, ‘Boys Don’t Cry’, which is due out in July.
He revealed: “Ocean invited me to Abbey Road to record on their album.”
The French musician went on to praise the ‘Thinkin’ Bout You’ hitmaker and his original way of creating music, explaining that he uses imagery and art for inspiration in the studio.
He explained: “The guy is smart. He’s really smart. The way he works in the studio is really cool. He’s got a printer, he’s got a lot of architectural photos, contemporary art, a lot of photos from different sort of stuff So we start working on a track and he says, that track is this – this car that you can see.
“I’ve never worked with so much money in music. Sometimes it’s good to have money, because you can try things.”
And he went on to reveal that acclaimed producer Rick Rubin – who has worked with artists like Adele, Jay Z and Mick Jagger in the past – was also instrumental in the development of the next album, although Christophe hasn’t not recognize the famous musician before his departure. the studio.
Speaking on BBC Radio 6 Music, he added: “At some point a guy came into the studio, a guy with a long beard. We start talking and then he leaves and they tell me that it’s Rick Rubin! I didn’t know the guy! Sometimes I’m the only one who doesn’t know things.”
