PRE FAB! tells the story of liverpool– born drummer, Colin Hanton, who was an original member of John Lennon’s skiffle band The Quarry Men, which eventually evolved into The Beatles. The film is currently in production and filming is taking place at liverpool, London, Los Angeles and New York.
As a member of the group of John lennon, Paul McCartney and George harrison, Colin Hanton had an insider’s view of the evolution of the Beatles. According to Bentley, “When Colin left The Quarry Men, he left behind the nucleus of what would later become The Beatles. Without The Quarry Men, there would be no Beatles, a group that brought the Abbey Road Studios. We felt it was important historically to have the base of The Quarry Men record in the same iconic location.”
Newby, Davis, and Garry were members of The Quarry Men at various stages from 1956 to 1959. Hanton was, however, with the group from 1956 to 1959. Over a two-year period, Hanton recounted his experiences to the author. Colin Room, the acclaimed author and caretaker of Lennon’s former home in Woolton, liverpool.
