East Kilbride MP Dr Lisa Cameron helped clean up the town by recently joining a garbage collection group.

She met East Kilbride Community Waste Pickers supporting their 5X5 scope commitment.

The pledge is to make East Kilbride cleaner and tidier and involves filling a litter bag every week for five weeks with the group in the hopes of signing up 50 local East Kilbride residents to the cause.

Ms Cameron joined the campaign at Calderglen Country Park alongside East Kilbride’s Funcise Dance Explosion Musical Theater Group.

She said Lanarkshire Live : “It was great speaking with Funcise Dance Explosion which I joined to commit to participating in the 5×5 Litter campaign.

“We should all be proud of East Kilbride and EK Litter Pickers are leading the way in ensuring that our city regains its natural beauty and remains waste free.”
