Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chae Win Deal With HYBE Labels’ Source Music Entertainment

On Monday, a representative from Source Music confirmed that the two idols will be part of the first girl group launched by HYBE Labels and Source Music Entertainment. As of press time, Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chae Won have already signed their contracts with the company.

“They will debut as the first girl group launched through the cooperation of HYBE and Source Music,” the rep said. “Please show a lot of anticipation and support for both artists as they show new sides of themselves to Source Music, which values ​​good music and value in content.”

Miyawaki Sakura has since left his longtime group, HKT48, and terminated his contract with his Japanese management agency.

Meanwhile, rumors of Kim Chae Won’s debut with girl group Source Music began in August 2021. Two days later, a report emerged that Miyawaki Sakura would also be joining her.

IZ*ONE almost debuted

Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chae Won’s decision to move forward with the new group and new group members came months after rumors of IZ*ONE’s comeback surfaced.

Sports Kyunghang revealed at the time that the IZ*ONE members were in talks to reunite. But CJ ENM dismissed the allegations and said the group’s future remains unknown.

“We are well aware of fan fundraising. We are grateful for their support. However, even if IZ*ONE gets back together and we move forward with the production of a new album, we plan to fund it ourselves,” the statement read.

With the recent move of Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chae Won, it’s safe to say that IZ*ONE’s comeback is no longer possible.
