Sam Smith announces exclusive Abbey Road Studios gig

Sam Smith have announced ‘Live from Abbey Road Studios’ – an exclusive live concert to celebrate their highly anticipated new album, love goes, available October 30 via Capitol. The pay-per-view event, which will take place on October 30 at 8:00 p.m. GMT, will include an intimate performance, Q&A opportunities, audience participation and special appearances by Smith collaborators.

Smith shared a video on their social media today, sitting on the steps of the iconic London studio. The event, according to Smith, will be their only live performance this year, amid the pandemic. The acclaimed artist will be backed by a full band while creating new songs love goes, and perform fan favorites from previous albums. According to a press release, the setlist will include hits such as “Lay Me Down,” “Too Good at Goodbyes,” Grammy-winning “Stay with Me,” as well as Smith’s latest single, “Diamonds.”

Fans can get early access to tickets (which start at just £4.00) by pre-ordering love goes from Smith official store today until Monday, October 5 at 6:00 p.m. GMT. American Express cardholders, meanwhile, will have access to exclusive content and bundles to be announced soon.

love goes marks Smith’s long-awaited follow-up to the top of the 2017 charts The thrill of it all. For their third studio album, Smith collaborated with a team of co-writers and producers, including Steve Mac (Ed Sheeran, Celine Dion), Shellback/MXM (Robyn, Pink, Britney Spears), Labrinth, the masterminds of Stargate, as well as good friend Guy Lawrence of Disclosure and longtime collaborator Jimmy Napes.

Before love goes, Smith shared “Diamonds” and “My Oasis” with Burna Boy. Both songs follow a series of collaborative singles, all of which will be available as bonus tracks on the album. They include the multi-platinum worldwide hit “Dancing With A Stranger”, feat. Normani, “Promises” feat. Calvin Harris, and the happy feat “I’m Ready”. Demi Lovato.

The two-year project, Smith said in an earlier statement, “was the most experimental time of my life, personally but also musically. Every time I entered the studio, I promised myself to aim for the stars and to have no limits. The result was so magical, so therapeutic and FUN.
