Oh yes: the A&R Awards in association with Abbey Road Studios will return to London on November 8, 2022

Did you know that Tuesday this week was officially the longest day of 2022?

It’s all downhill from here, folks. We don’t want to put a damper on your summer vibes, especially if you’re dropping by Worthy Farm today. (May these clouds, pregnant with H2O, hold back their tears for you this weekend 🙏.)

But the winter nights will inevitably come eventually. And you know what will make them much more bearable?

Why, only the most enjoyable night on the UK music industry calendar!

The A&R Awards, the annual event honoring the best of the UK music industry’s creative community, will return to central London on the evening of Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

• Venue: The Grand Connaught Rooms, Holborn/Covent Garden area.
• The tables: A limited number of tables are on sale now. (See ‘How can I buy a table?‘ below.)

Once again, the A&R Awards will see a mix of songwriters, producers, labels, publishers and artist managers celebrated for their achievements over the previous 12 months.

And again, the “major” and “independent” sectors of the company will get their due.

Presented by The music industry around the worldthis year’s ceremony is already shaping up to be a ceremony for all ages.

You can expect the usual mix of individual and team awards, as well as special A&R Awards moments, including The A&R Icon Award, Pioneer: the Richard Antwi Prizeand of course, The Sir George Martin Prize.

For the 2022 event, some things will be different, but brilliant. And some things will be the same, but shiny.

This last category includes our longstanding association with Abbey Road Studioswhich we are delighted to confirm have become the Presenting Partner of the A&R Awards for the sixth year.

Shortlists will be revealed — and voting will begin — for this year’s awards in the fall.

Platinum and Gold tables are available now for purchase – and, fair warning, we expect them all to be gone by the end of the summer.

Much to some people’s chagrin (sorry, but also a little not sorry), we’ve deliberately kept the A&R Awards to a limited (but classy) space.

We mainly do this so that we don’t have to make new prices that don’t really fit the philosophy of the evening, just to sell extra tables.

It’s the right decision. But unfortunately this also means that we sell fast.

one last thing.

Those of you who were at the A&R Awards last year – and what a huge night it was – will remember that the much-missed Ashley Forbes posthumously won the “A&R Administrator” award.

Collecting this award on stage, Dan de Bastille asked us to rename it, in honor of Ashley, “The Forbesie”.

Of course, this happens in November.
