Several Belizean artists sign contracts with the famous Universal Music Group label

By BBN staff: Today was a historic day for music in Belize, as several Belizean artists signed contracts to join the major international label, Universal Music Group (UMG).

Supa G, Ty, Deja, Mailyn Vansen and Stig da Artist were all signed to UMG in a ceremony held today at the Shisha Lounge in Belize City.

The signing was facilitated by Area Representative for Mesopotamia and former Music Ambassador Shyne Barrow. Barrow, who has made several trips to the United States this year, posted on his social media account before the signing, showing that UMG executives were coming to Belize by private jet for the event.

“Fate cannot be deceived. Another historic gesture. Thank you for making Belize your priority, ”Barrow said in a message thanking UMG.

Universal Music Group NV is a Dutch-American multinational music company. UMG’s head office is located in Hilversum, The Netherlands, and its operational headquarters are located in Santa Monica, California. the label has a plethora of iconic names in music on its artist roster, including Kanye West, Mariah Carey, Adele, Rihanna, Cold Play and Lady Gaga, to name a few.

The signing of a label of this magnitude gives our Belizean artists opportunities to hone their craft to new heights and opens up new perspectives for collaborations.
