Pulse Music Group renews publishing deal with Brent Faiyaz

Pulse Music Group has announced that it has renewed its global publishing deal with R&B superstar Brent Faiyaz.

Faiyaz joined Pulse’s roster of songwriters and producers in 2016. Since then, he has collaborated with a roster of artists, songwriters, and producers. Alongside the renewal of his publishing contract, Brent’s debut album WASTELAND entered the charts at No. 1 on Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop Albums, No. 1 R&B Albums, No. 2 on Billboard 200 and was No. 1 Spotify Top Albums Debut Global.

“With Brent and Ty, we’ve found kindred spirits. They’re working towards the highest artistic bar,” says Scott Cutler and Josh Abraham, co-CEOs of Pulse Music Group. “They’re both fiercely independent and won’t do any compromise. We’ve been a part of Brent’s journey since the early days and have always had a real understanding of his vision. Ty and Brent play by their own rules, and we’re very committed to that. “We’ve been involved with Brent from the beginning,” adds Ashley Calhoun, President, Pulse Music Group. “Pulse was the first publishing house Ty sent Brent’s music to, and as soon as I heard Brent’s voice, I immediately knew I had to work with him, so we moved quickly to closing the deal in the spring of 2016.”

“Brent and Ty then reinvested the publishing advance into their business, which allowed Brent to remain independent as an artist as he was able to support himself financially, using our recording studios and focus on his music full time. He’s been pedaled to the ground ever since, and we’re so proud to be a part of Brent’s incredible team and history,” concludes Calhoun.

Shortly after Brent signed with Pulse Music Group, he met GoldLink at the recording studios in Burbank. It was then featured and hooked on GoldLink’s single, “Crew”, alongside Shy Glizzy in 2016. The single was certified 5x Platinum and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration .

Brent Faiyaz currently has around 12 million monthly listeners on Spotify. his album WASTELAND includes previously released hit singles featuring Drake and Tyler, the Creator. It also contains standout features from Alicia Keys, Raphael Saadiq and Tre Amani, with string arrangements and multi-track production by Jordan Waré.
