Digital collectibles marketplace Limewire partners with Universal Music Group (UMG) to license its content. Limewire offers a Music NFT platform which opens it up to many well-known artists working with UMG. They will be able to offer exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, audio recordings and other content to their audience on Limewire as NFTs. This gives them the opportunity to connect with their fans through a blockchain platform.

Limewire partners with Universal Music Group

The partnership means UMG will provide Limewire licenses to work directly with its artists and create premium content that can be sold to fans as NFTs. Their goal is to produce quality collectible content in the audio and visual space. This is a massive partnership as it opens up the music industry to crypto and its applications. And since artists in the music industry often face payment issues, it gives them a new source of income.

Limewire CEOs said, “We view this partnership as a true demonstration of the pace at which the music industry is embracing Web3.” They are excited to open their NFT ecosystem to UMG and are waiting to see the first projects hitting their platform.

UMG officials are also delighted with this new agreement. Their EVP, Digital Business Development & Strategy, Jonathan Dworkin, said UMG has always prioritized the creativity of its artists and the desire of its fans. And since NFTs offer a new mode of engagement between artists and audiences, they’re partnering with Limewire.

About Limewire

LimeWire debuted in 2000, allowing individuals to exchange music, movies, and other things online for free. It quickly reached tens of millions of monthly users. The company closed in 2011 due to mounting pressure and litigation from the music and film industries over piracy charges.

In 2022, the rights to the company were purchased by brothers Paul and Julian Zehetmayr, who intend to deploy the platform in a way that unites artists and fans. This LimeWire isn’t associated with the original company, but the pair are hoping to capitalize on the brand name. They plan to do so by entering the NFT industry.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The World For Ukraine, a grassroots nonprofit group, has now raised nearly $1 million in medical supplies, toiletries, clothing and other items that are being sent to soldiers and civilians in the country.

Anastasiia Sliuraneko, one of the founders of The World for Ukraine organization, started the group to help save lives. So far they have raised $998,000.

Millions of lives must be saved,” she said.

Sliuraneko said people here are having an impact in Ukraine. Every donation, social media share, or rally participation allowed the group to focus on the substantive details.

To be able to be even more productive,” she said. “Every little bit counts.”

Ukrainian soldiers have received the supplies, but they still need medical equipment, clothing and shoes.

“They need more, [the] the boys must be saved today,” she said.

Sliuraneko referred to soldiers fighting for their lives, their families and their land. At present, soldiers sheltering in a steelworks in Mariupol are trapped in the rubble of the building after Russian forces attacked it.

“Now they’re just…buried alive,” she said. “They need help from all over the world just to be evacuated.”

She said you can help in many ways.

“People can talk to their local governments,” she said.

Another way is to participate in fundraisers. The next fundraiser is scheduled for 3-8 p.m. May 22 at the Tidal Creek Brewhouse. There will be Ukrainian music, food, educational activities and more, all money raised will be used to send more supplies.

Sliuraneko said community support is not taken for granted.

“From the Ukrainian community, Ukrainians back home, a big thank you,” she said. “We are grateful for the American support.”

You can also show your support by signing a petition, donating, or volunteering through the group’s website.

A similar bill was introduced in the Ohio Senate last month.

Fishermen in Sarteneja village in Corozal district are also angry at the new fishing regulations. Journalist Giovanna Moguel spoke to the angry fishermen.

Giovanna Moguel, Love FM News: A group of fishermen from the northern coastal community have come forward to express their dissatisfaction with new fishing regulations, which include banning them from catching lobsters with a tail weight of less than 4.5 ounces and changes the specification of the number of traps allowed per fisherman, fishing vessels and the areas where they are allowed to be deployed. A fisherman from Sarteneja, Neftali Verde, explained that he believed the government of Belize had imposed the orders without considering the impacts it was having on the industry.

Neftali Verde, Sarteneja Fisher: “I see the best areas, and where we had our camps, are some of the best areas where conch and lobster spawn very quickly and the best fishing grounds are right there and they are putting reserves elsewhere and not the area that should be.

Giovanna Moguel, Love FM News: Verde clarified that the fishing community supports the efforts made in the conservation of the marine ecosystem and the blue economy. However, they said they disagree with the way it is being managed as it now poses a threat to the livelihoods of Belizean fishermen. Antonio Arceo is also a fisherman from the village of Sarteneja and he says that these regulations will not only affect fishermen but also consumers.

Antonio Arceo, fisherman from Sarteneja: “Like you said. You mentioned why lobster is, and conch, the price is going up, right? Well, the price is going to go up for us because of the cost of gas, ice .

Giovanna Moguel, Love FM News: And operating expenses.

Antonio Arceo, fisherman from Sarteneja: “Yes we have on the boat. Then we have to raise salaries too, right?

Giovanna Moguel, Love FM News: The angler group said the 0.5 ounce increase means a 40% loss of income for around 300 anglers and families.

Neftali Verde, Fisherman: “So imagine if you do, used to make $500 while traveling. With the 4.5 you will earn $300. You must pay $200 in expenses. You will stay with $100 for 10 days working hard. What are your kids going to eat if you have someone going to high school? Your return passage which is $30. What will happen with the fishermen? Those who are up there don’t know it because they have a fixed salary. We don’t have a fixed salary. I believe that for the government, we are nothing. We are like the Lionfish. We invade everywhere. But the lionfish has great value, even though it is poisonous. To the right? So the fishermen, they feel the same. They just push them out by putting reserves and increasing the ounces on the products and everything, but we have no alternative. We understand. We need alternatives.

Giovanna Moguel, Love FM News: Verde also said consultations with fishers and other community stakeholders regarding the implementation of the new regulations have not been done. The fishermen are convinced that the government must take into consideration the impact this will have on hundreds of families. Report for Love News, Giovanna Moguel.

New K-Pop group ABO have been called out on social media because their name is a racial slur against Australian Aborigines. Other social media users have noted that ABO is also short for erotic fan fiction. The name of the group means “At the beginning of originality”, according to IST Entertainment.

The group was announced after the final of the singing competition on May 7 The origin – A, B or what? and will include seven of the show’s ten finalists. Jeong Seunghwan, Oh Junseok, Seok Rakwon, Ryu Junmin, Bae Hyunjun, Yang Donghwa, and Kim Yeonkyu will join the group, reports Soompi. IST Entertainment is the same talent agency behind girl group Apink and boy group The Boyz. The first ABO recordings will be released later this year, according to Korea JoongAng Daily.

After the name was announced, those not in South Korea commented on how awful the name is. In Australia, “Abo” is an offensive name used as a reference to Australian Aborigines. It has been compared to the “N-word” in the United States and there has been outrage when public figures have used it. As recently as Monday, Australian broadcaster Channel Nine announced it would be exposing NSW One Nation party member Mark Latham MP for tweeting the insult during a televised debate between party leaders. The debate was moderated by journalist Sarah Abo. Latham later told the The telegraph of the day his tweet was misinterpreted by the “outrage industry”.

“Mark Latham’s tweet last night is disgraceful, racist and totally unacceptable,” Channel Nine executive Darren Wick said in a statement to News.Com.Au. “Sarah Abo is an exceptional journalist and handled the robust nature of a debate of this magnitude with intelligence, composure and professionalism. That cannot be said for Mr. Latham’s tweet. We will report his comments to the authorities.”

Other social media users pointed out that ABO also had a very NSFW meaning. It is an abbreviation for a controversial genre of online erotic fanfiction. “Are the entertainment companies completely clueless or what? Is it hard to do a simple search before naming a band? ABO?” a Twitter user wrote. “1. It’s an insult and 2. A fanfic genre, which involves 10/10 times [sex]. They’re going to be a laughing stock as long as they carry that name.”

“There’s a new K-pop boy group about to debut called ABO…what an unfortunate name to have LMAOO,” one Twitter user said. wrote. “All Australians immediately railed against the name because we know it’s an insult. It’s not the best name,” another person said. commented.

This season of The Masked Singer featured questionable castings – instead of music superstars like Lil’ Wayne, Dionne Warwick, LeAnn Rimes and Jewel, we got celebrity pastry chef Duff Goldman and, uh, Rudy Giuliani (the latter on the lesser episode well rated from the series already). But this week, during the double elimination episode of the Group C pre-final, the competition really ramped up with the reveal of of them true pop legends. The fact that none of the acclaimed artists made it to the finale proves that Season 7 is just getting started, with only two weeks left.

Team Bad’s Queen Cobra Trio slipped into slaying Silk Sonic’s “Leave the Door Open,” while Team Cuddly’s Space Bunny really grabbed the New-Jack-Swinging crowd with their Hi-NRG rendition of Heavy D’s remake of the “Now” from the O’Jays That we have found love. They then went head-to-head against semi-finalist The Prince in a heartbreaking showdown of Katy Perry’s “Roar,” which judge Ken Jeong enthusiastically described as “a legit three-way contest.” Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg raves: “I’m completely freaking out! You have to go on tour together or release an album! I didn’t want it to end!” And Nicole Scherzinger noted, “It’s so hard, because everyone has an amazing voice, but their clean vocals – really different tones and textures. So I don’t know what we’re going to do.

In the end, the jury and studio audience reluctantly decided to host the Queen Cobra, whom girl group veteran Nicole correctly identified as the multi-platinum sensations of 90s En Vogue, and Space Bunny, whom Nicole and Robin Thicke correctly guessed was Grammy-winning reggae. Shaggy star. (This been him!)

As for the C-lister group who managed to outdo the two superstars and who will now embark on the Season 7 finale, The Prince, I’m convinced that this artsy amphibian is theatrical sensation Cheyenne Jackson. The clues add up completely. We saw the planet Mars, and Cheyenne appeared on the TV show Life on Mars. We saw the $20.06 price tag and a plane, and Cheyenne had a career breakthrough in 2006 when he appeared in the Oscar-nominated film United 93. We saw a diamond ring, and Cheyenne played Johnny Diamond on American housewife. We saw a wristwatch, and Cheyenne starred in three episodes of watchmen. Another visual clue was Carnegie Hall, and Cheyenne sold this prestigious venue twice. The prince also mentioned living in a “little pond” and Cheyenne grew up in Oldtown, Idaho, which he has described in the past as a “little town of mills”. And finally, the prince once received a good luck video message from his friend Jamie Lee Curtis, with whom Cheyenne just wrapped filming the movie. Borderlands.

The Prince will face stiff competition in the May 18 final – Group A’s Firefly (who is undoubtedly Teyana Taylor) and Group B’s Ringmaster (aka The Goldbergs actress Hayley Orrantia) — but he definitely gave a performance worthy of a Stevie Wonder “Sir Duke” finale this week, which Nicole called “outstanding.” Jenny even predicted, “He could be our winner.” Can he really jump into the winner’s circle? Maybe… but no matter what, this toad and the viewers are ready for a wild ride.
